Mary Ann learned to braid rugs from her aunt, Virginia Boone, in the late 1970's. In 1998 began helping Virginia with rug exhibits at the Mountain State Fair's Heritage Village in Asheville and the Village of Yesteryear at the State Fair in Raleigh. She continues to create award winning designs, winning blue ribbons in state competition annually.

A licensed Professional Counselor and former home economics teacher and school counselor, Mary Ann enjoys teaching others and sharing her love and enthusiasm for the creative use of color and design to create rugs which are unique works of art. Classes are offered in Buncombe, Henderson, Rutherford and McDowell Counties. For a class near you contact Mary Ann and/or ask your nearest Community College to add to their mailing list for continuing education classes.

Mary Ann creates affordable, unique rugs in her home. Hand-braided rugs can be designed in traditional patterns or more contemporary designs to fit into any space or decor. Her rugs are reversible which makes them durable for several generations. Colors and shapes can be custom selected and designed from an extensive collection of colorful wools. Although the most used shapes are oval or round, she also creates rectangles, octagons, stair treads, stair or hall runners, chair pads and other novelty or special designs such as hearts, flowers, rainbows and butterflies. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
