How You Can Become a Member of the Village of Yesteryear.

New members are accepted through a jury process. contacting one of two Selection Committee Chairpersons below.

For Raleigh and East of Wake County - Lena Ennis - Email: ennisfree@earthlink.com

or for west of Raleigh and Wake County - Mike Lowe - Email: mklowe@comcast.com

The selection committee is made up of current members whose job it is to examine the quality of your work and if it is the type of craft that reflects the theme and purpose of the Village. You may be asked to bring or send actual pieces of your craft for a hands on review.

Once accepted by the selection committee your information is sent to the director for final acceptance and you will be contacted by her.

Some questions you might want to ask yourself before applying are:

Is my craft a "heritage craft"? What is it's history and how did you learn it?

How will you demonstrate your craft at the Fair? Remember, this is not a craft show. Our primary goal is education, not sales.

Some other requirements of members to consider are:

You must be able to attend all 10 days of the Fair from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm each day.

You must dress in period costume. (Guidelines for this will be sent to you on acceptance).

You must be willing to be a part of the family. Helping out with group tasks or watching out for your neighbor. Don't worry, we will be helping and watching out for you too!

Good luck with your application. We look forward to meeting you
